Fifty five teachers who participated in the 2009 Green Expo filled out an extensive evaluation about their Expo likes and dislikes. You can find their comments here.
Bernie Karl and the
Geothermal Well Head
The 2010 Expo is being redesigned to give teachers more of what they asked for. That includes the option of bringing students and adding a Curriculum Swap where teachers who want to do green projects with their students can learn how to do that from teachers who have already conducted projects in the past.
We will also expand on the locovore lunch featuring produce, fruit and meat from close to home.
We can’t commit yet regarding the favorite 2009 attraction, Bernie Karl, the geothermal power pioneer and wild man from the Chena Hot Springs Resort in Alaska. But, we’re working on it. You can learn more about Bernie here.
State Superintendent of Public Instruction, Randy Dorn and Seattle Community Colleges Chancellor, Jill Wakefield, were also popular speakers and we expect them to participate again in 2010.
If you have an idea for the Expo or would like to provide an exhibit, call Green Expo Program Manager Carla Dean at 206-762-2470 or Carla@seattleindustry.org.
